The regulations relating to
Brown Sticker Conventions were recently reviewed by the Tournament Committee.
The Tournament Committee was of the view that restrictions on the use of Brown
Sticker Conventions should be relaxed. A much simplified regulation was
proposed to and accepted by the TBA Committee. The new regulation is shown
below.

CONVENTIONS IN
10.3 BROWN STICKER (BS) CONVENTIONS -
10.31 The use of BROWN STICKER (BS) CONVENTIONS is permitted in
all events conducted under the auspices of the TBA unless there is a specific
prohibition for an event or session.
10.32 Notwithstanding
Regulation 10.31, the use of BS Conventions is subject to the application of
the "Protected Pair" principle [see Clause 2.9 in Appendix 3]. However,
Protected Pair status shall not apply to
a.
Gold MP events
b.
State Championship events
c.
Any IMP scored Red MP event with matches of at least 7
boards
d. The Final of any other Red MP event
