The Tasmanian Bridge Association (TBA) extends a very warm welcome to all bridge-playing visitors to Tasmania and invites you to play at any of our affiliated Clubs (including the TBA itself) during your stay on our island. The TBA was formed in 1928 and, as well as operating as a bridge club in North Hobart, administers state bridge in Tasmania. This is an exciting and challenging time for our club as we are well into the planning of new clubrooms for the TBA on land, leased from the Council, at New Town Bay. We hope to soon commence building a modern, purpose-designed facility which will provide a stimulating bridge environment for local and visiting players as well as an appropriate headquarters for Tasmanian bridge generally. There are eight other clubs in the state, three in the south – Eastern Shore, Hobart City and Kingborough, two in Launceston – Launceston and Tamar, as well as clubs in Burnie, Devonport and Ulverstone. All clubs are happy to find a partner for visiting players. Contact details for all clubs can be found in the TBA and Affiliated Clubs section of this website. The 2012 Australian Swiss Pairs will be held at the Country Club Resort in Launceston on October 6th and 7th 2012. This will be preceded by the Roger Penny Senior Swiss Pairs on October 4th and 5th at the same venue. A warm welcome is extended to all local and interstate players to participate in these Gold Point events. We look forward to seeing you in Launceston in October. Tassie is the place to be in 2012.
