The TBA Committee met at the TBA clubrooms on Tuesday April 12th from 3.30pm

The following matters were discussed:
New Committee
The incoming president welcomed the newly elected committee members and expressed the club’s appreciation to all the committee for their dedicated commitment to the successful operation of the Tasmanian Bridge Association.
Annual General Meetng
The AGM of the TBA was held on March 19th 2022. The following were elected to the committee for 2022:
President: Graeme Poulton
Vice President: Margaret Gibbs
Secretary: Katherine Marsden
Treasurer: Ian Bailey
Committee: Julie Rhodes (ex officio as former president), Doug Bridge, Sue Falkingham, Hugh Grosvenor, Pam Murphy, Ian Ritchard
The other significant appointment at the AGM was the presentation of Life Membership to Valerie Palk for her contribution to the running of the club over a long period.
Tasmanian Festival of Bridge
The Annual Tasmanian Festival of Bridge was held in Launceston from March 23 -27. The event was very successful considering the Covid-19 impact on entries from other states. A total of 164 entries participated across the four competions. Andrew Richman and Catherine Elliot were congratulated on their efforts in ensuring the event’s success.
Katherine Marsden is coordinatng the 2023 TFoB in Hobart and reported that planning is well underway for that event.
COVID-19 Safety Plan
The COVID-19 Safety Plan was reviewed and no changes were made.
TBA Actvity Responsibilites There are a wide range of actvities which are required to be performed to enable the TBA to functon efficiently. Many of these are performed currently by volunteer members, and specific committee members and officers (directors, masterpoints secretary, administration advisor, treasurer, secretary).
These functions have been grouped into the areas listed below, and responsibility for liaising with the volunteers and service providers have been allocated to committee members.

Members may be approached by the committee seeking further volunteers for specific activities.
ABF Annual General Meeting State Councillors Sue Falkingham and Hugh Grosvenor, together with retiring councillor Dallas Cooper will be attending the ABF Annual General Meetng in early May.
