Friday 18 September 2026 saw the start of the three day "GNOT Online Finals" where the teams representing each region compete on RealBridge to qualify for the face-to-face finals to be held in late November in Brisbane.
The event has four knockout rounds (24 board matches), with teams who are knocked out going into a Swiss Repechage (12 board matches). The four teams who survive the knockout rounds and the top four in the Repechage qualify for the National Final. The top 12 non-metropolitan teams in the Repechage qualify for the National Non-Metropolitan Final. The three Tasmanian regions are all classified as non-metropolitan
The three Tasmanian teams are:
- Tasmania North: Catherine Elliott, Felicity Wivell, Anne Fyfe, Cvetko Suban
- Tasmania South: Maria Gibbs, Bal Krishan, Merryl Darby, David Marshall, Julia Corr, Jo Beck
- Tasmania (Online qualifiers): Tania Lloyd, Hugh Grosvenor, Mardi Grosvenor, John Grosvenor
In Knockout Round 1 the Tasmania team won against Wide Bay and will play Sydney 6 in Knockout Round 2. Tasmania South lost to Sydney 6 (on the last board and by the narrowest of margins). Tasmania North lost to Mountains 2. Tasmania North and South will continue in the Swiss Repechage and still have every chance to go through to the finals.
Day 2 starts at 11:00am on Saturday with two Knockout rounds and four Repechage rounds.
